studio produced Content strategy - Media/Publication

I contributed to developing premium, studio-produced content such as Dear Black Love and Birth Rights. For these rollouts, I led the social strategy to drive audience anticipation, engagement, and visibility across social platforms for editorial launches. This involved crafting compelling teasers, campaign videos, and behind-the-scenes (BTS) content that resonated with the publication’s community while aligning with the overall editorial vision.

Strategy:

  • Produced short-form teaser videos highlighting standout moments and trending soundbites to immediately capture audience attention. Strategically scheduled teasers to build anticipation leading up to the editorial release.

  • Contributed to the creation of polished campaign videos that told cohesive stories, aligning with the publication's visual identity per editorial package.

  • Captured authentic, candid moments from the set, showcasing the personalities of talent. Shared BTS content to offer audiences an exclusive, relatable perspective via IG stories and Reels.

  • Partnered with editorial and production teams to conceptualize and execute overarching shoot themes. Provided input on set design, color schemes, and typography, and suggested culturally aligned talent.

  • Implemented a staggered rollout plan for content across Instagram Reels, Stories, and Feed posts as well as Twitter (X) and TikTok. Wrote engagement-driven captions with clear calls to action to encourage interaction and clicks to the site.

Outcome:

  • Campaign teasers and BTS content drove significant views, shares, and comments across platforms.

  • Campaigns successfully resonated emotionally with target audiences based on timing and cultural relevance (ex. Skylar and Temi DBL episode remains a top performing video (354K views) out of the series and it was the first couple the brand showcased that was geared towards a younger audience.)

  • Strengthen the publication as a leader in culturally relevant storytelling and intentional social content.

  • The content remained relevant beyond the initial launch, continuing to drive engagement post-editorial release. (The Birth Right editorial package shares real stories of Black women sharing their experience with pregnancy and is a yearly evergreen content for Black Maternal Health Week that takes place in April)
