digital marketing, social strategy, & moderator - The glow up event

The Glow Up served as Unbothered’s first event for their community. From URL to IRL the primary goal was to bring to life many of the conversations and topics surrounding Black folks and our culture. I helped lead the digital marketing plan to get the word out about the event for five months and served as a moderator for four panels during the two-day festival in Atlanta, GA.

Strategy:

  • Collaborated with the social team to plan and execute a multi-phase rollout strategy for the campaign on Instagram Reels, Stories, and other social channels. Contributed to ideating teaser content, key messaging, and captions to ensure alignment with Unbothered’s brand voice and the campaign’s objectives.

  • Provided insights on optimal formats for content (e.g., short-form Reels vs. static posts) to maximize engagement and visibility. Focused on attention-grabbing opening visuals and captions to hook audiences on IG Stories.

  • Encouraged audience interactions both in-person during the panels and online through interactive captions, comment prompts, and post-event recaps. (ex. the sound-off booth, paired with Unbothered’s Go Off Sis podcast live tapping)

  • Collaborated on theme direction and ensured alignment between social content and live event programming.

Outcome:

  • IRL Impact: The festival had over 3,000 attendees turnout both days in Atlanta, GA.

  • The panels provided value through timely topics with special talents such as Baby Tate, Lala Milan, Coco Jones, and more.

  • The strategic social rollout ensured alignment across live events and digital content, creating a seamless audience experience.

  • Strengthened Unbothered’s reputation as a platform for bold, socially relevant conversations.

  • I moderated four panels: two from my IG live series Unfiltered with co-host Maiya Carmichael and two that were sponsored by Target and focused on fashion and beauty.
